Cosmological Perturbations – Models and Phenomenology

In General, Consequences > s.a. content of the universe; tests of general relativity; tests with light [deflection].
* Idea: 2014, Quantum fluctuations associated with the scalar field driving inflation in the early universe "froze in", becoming classical perturbations on top of an otherwise mostly uniform universe, and seeded all observed large-scale structures in the universe; Observations of cmb anisotropies have detected small temperature variations (anisotropies) consistent with predictions from inflation around an energy scale of 1016 GeV (but are not conclusive).
* Spectrum: Primordial fluctuations probably had a flat (scale-invariant) Harrison-Zel'dovich spectrum, in which certain scales get amplified afterwards as a result of acoustic oscillations sloshing around; 2006, WMAP results show deviations from a flat spectrum consistent with inflation [@ news pn(06)mar].
