ASTR 104 – Lab Information
Spring 2008 – Sections 5, 6, 7, 8

General Policies

The lab is an integral part of the course, and attendance to labs is mandatory. Labs will be held rain or shine, have to be attended even by students who might have done the same lab activity in ASTR 103, and each missed lab will result in a zero for that lab. However, one lab grade will be dropped, and it could be a missed lab. Students with more than three unexcused absences from lab will fail the course, regardless of their overall grade. For more details, go to the astronomy lab webpage.

Lab Final

The lab final will consist of 10 multiple choice questions added to the lecture final given on Monday, May 5th. The questions will be of a general nature, on the labs that were done during the semester (purpose of the lab, method used, quantities measured, values of the main quantities involved). In preparation for that part of the exam, study the introductory parts of the lab handouts; close to the final exam, the lab TA may provide you with a list of things you should know. You may want to bring a calculator to the final exam..
