ASTR 101– Course-Related Announcements
Second Summer Session 2008

  • Observation III: Thursday, July 17th at 10:30 pm or so (after the review).
     
  • Review for Test 3: Thursday, July 17th at 9:00 pm in our usual lecture room.
     
  • 07.14: Extra Credit: Students who want to do extra credit work are asked to let me know as soon as possible. One possibility is to write an essay on an astronomy topic that has been in the news recently. One of the rules is that you must stay in class until the end of the morning every day from now on, unless you have a good reason not to.
     
  • Review for Test 2: Thursday, July 10th at 9:00 pm in our usual lecture room.
     
  • Observation II: Wednesday, July 9th at 10:30 pm (Jupiter), weather permitting.
     
  • Observation I: Tuesday, July 1st at 8:30 pm (Saturn).
     
  • Online Resources: You can log in to the Brooks/Cole Virtual Astronomy Laboratory at the address http://val.brookscole.com (Class Name = Astr 101, School Name = University of Mississippi). Class ID = 1927 when logging in.
     
  • Syllabus: I will go over the syllabus on the first day of class. After that day, students (including those who register for the course after the first day of classes) will be responsible for knowing what the course policies are.
