I found a few corrections to the MC in Test 1.  Fortunately these seem to be isolated problems and not systematic.
Test A       Test B        Correct Answer
#14            #15            C
#10             #9             D

These were incorrect in my original key, so I will add 4 points to everyone's Test 1 grade.  I spot checked other questions and did not find any other problems.  If you believe you have found one, let me know.  I'll be checking email until around midnight.

IMPORTANT:  Make SURE you arrive at Lewis 101 NO LATER than 8:30.  After that time, University Policy requires that I not let you in the exam!!

Here is a PDF of your current grades going into the exam.  PLEASE note the comments at the top of the table about how these were computed!  You will need your secret class 3 digit ID number I emailed to you at the beginning of the semester to find your grades.
I have also gotten the PHET extra credit system up and running.  This link will take you to a page to get started.  You have until next Thursday evening to get this done, although I HIGHLY recommend you get it done before the exam on Tuesday morning!

Test Corrections
* You must hand in fully worked solutions for ALL PARTS of Problems 1-3 on Test 1 IN CLASS on Thursday. If you got a part right, you may simply recopy your solution.
* If you put in a "good faith" effort for each solution, I will add 15 points to your Test 1 grade.
* For Problem 2: You may treat point P as being located at x=0 and the left end of the charged rod as being at point x=d and right end of rod as being at x=L+d
* For Problem 3: When the dielectric is inserted into the capacitors, it is assumed that the battery REMAINS connected.  The Capacitor Lab on the PHET website may be helpful here.
* You do NOT have to do the extra credit to get the 15 points (and no points beyond the 15 if you do!)

I have posted the slides for Chap. 28 on DC Circuits.

We will periodically be using a suite of web based physics simulations from the "Physics Eduaction Technology" website (phet.colorado.edu).  I find these simulations helpful for students to build a physical intuition about concepts.  I enourage you to go there and "play" with simulations on topics we are covering in class.
01-23 NOW
Make sure to get your WebAssign account up and running and "Join" this class. Here are some instructions to help you get started.

Welcome to Physics 212.
This is the page to which you should refer most often.  It is where I will post homework assignments, make announcements, post test scores and distributions, and will be my primary mode of communication with you (other than lectures of course!).  Make sure to take a good look at the course syllabus and lecture schedule and let me know if there is anything you do  not understand.
