Ionization loss in the Belle II Central Drift Chamber

Our meeting will take place over Zoom during the morning and afternoon
on Wed.  July 22.   We will do our best to adhere to times and flow.  If we
need more time  we will meet again for a few hours on a second day.

9am
Belle II Particle ID talk  -  Jake
Jake will focus on particle id with the Belle II Central drift chamber
and the TOP Cherenkov detector.  How atoms are ionized?  What is
     Cherenkov light?

If you are interested in getting a demo with a VR headset
(much more impressive), I have one available and there is another in
the Ole Miss Idea Lab (below the library on campus).

10am
QuarkNet Refresher - Ken Cesire
    Official news from QuarkNet

11am
PID exercise  - Lucien, all
An exercise on particle id will be presented.  We will then break away and
solve our particle physics puzzle.   Particle ID

Other practicums - teachers
Practicums are small projects that students can do in class or at home to investigate
    physics
principles.  As a goal lets come up with a few that we can share on Kinematics
    and
Mechanics?  Energy?  Sound and Waves?
