The High Energy Physics group at the University of Mississippi is located in Oxford, Mississippi, about fifty miles south of Memphis, Tennesee. The group includes four faculty members, three post-docs, three grad students and visiting researchers.
Research resources include a 3000 mips computing "farm" with full time system manager, and a departmental machine shop with instrument maker.
The group is participating in several major experiments, including Fermilab E-791 (hadron-produced charm), the BaBar B Factory at SLAC, the SLD experiment at SLAC, and the CMS detector at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
