PHYS 222
Study Guide for Lab Final
The final will include most (but not all) of the items below.
1) Be able to measure the current, voltage and resistance of a circuit, and/or circuit element.
2) Be able to read and interpret an oscilloscope.
3) Be able to determine the focal length of a thin lense.
4) Be able to determine the index of refraction of a material.
5) Be able to determine uncertainty of DMM (digital multimeter) and propagate the uncertainty.
6) Be able to read a balance or caliper and determine its uncertainty.
What to study?
Look over the experiments on:
O-scope, Reflection & Refraction, Thin Lenses, Series & Parallel, and Kirchhoff's Laws.
The following experiments will be set up in the lab- Series & Parallel, Kirchhoff's Laws and Thin Lenses.
(You may ask questions about how to perform these experiments)
All formulas (except for Ohm's Law) will be provided.
