|
The following tests are given in this course:
- First Test: Sept. 30 (Wednesday), during class time. A one hour test. The answers will be available after the test here.
- Second Test: Nov. 2 (Monday), during class time. A one hour test. The answers will be available after the test here.
- Comprehensive Final Exam: Dec. 7 (Monday) 12:00-3:00 PM.
- One pass or fail test. The passing level is 90%. The questions and the answers have been handed out in class, or are available now, click here. This test can be repeatedly taken until passed. It is offered after each regular test, plus on Oct. 7 (Wednesday), Oct. 20 (Tuesday), and Nov. 11 (Wednesday) at 6 pm in Lewis Hall 101. Anyone
who does not pass this test will fail the course!
The tests are multiple choice. You need a scantron form no. 16485. Only the textbook
may be used during tests, provided it contains no handwritten
notes. Students must have
a picture ID in tests.
No textbooks during the pass/fail!
You are responsible to inform the instructor
of any conflicts as soon as possible so that a resolution can
be found in time.
Missed tests will normally
count as zero. If you absolutely have to miss a test, you need
to (1) inform the instructor at the earliest time possible, (2)
provide documentation why it is impossible for you to take the
test. Do not expect any leniency regarding missed tests!
The second test contains 33 multiple choice questions:
- 11 questions are taken from the quizzes, slightly changed.
- 8 questions are taken from the presentations.
- 5 questions are taken from the reading assignments.
- 9 questions will refer to what was explained, orally, in class.
A good way to prepare for the test would be to:
- Review the presentations
that were in class. Make sure you understand everything in there.
- Review the quiz questions. Take time to understand the reason why each of the wrong answers are wrong and why the right answers are correct.
- Review the reading assignments.
- When you feel you are
missing something use the textbook to find the answer. Use the
index in the textbook.
- If you can't answer something,
call or see the instructor and ask your question.
