Course Resources
Dr. Gladden
- Physics Education Technology (PhET)
This is a very nice collection of simulations for a wide variety
of topics in Physics. The project is out of a group at the University
of Colorado. I will show a number of them in class and
encourage you to spend some time with them on your own. By
"playing around", you are building your physical intuition which goes a
long way to help your understanding. You will need to have Java
and Flash installed and working on your computer.
- On-line
Homework Website
This is a web based resource called Grade Assist which is budled with
the Giancoli book. Much of
the homework assignments will be done on this system. It is nice
because of the dynamic (and real time) help with homework
problems. You must register with the system using the code
included with your textbook. I'll have instructions posted very
shortly to help you register and use the system. You can go ahead
and register your code at the Pearson
Hall Grade Assist website. If you have purchased a used book that
does not have a code in it, you will have to purchase the code
separately. See me for details. A complete Student Guide to the
PHGA system can be downloaded
here in PDF.

- Clicker
Registration Page
I need the number on the back of your clicker (which came with your
textbook) so I can associate your clicker with your name. I have
posted a simple form for you to register your clicker with me.
The proper number is in a white box on the back of your clicker remote.
