Astrowatch
I had the pleasure and benefit to be a part of the Astrowatch group at the LIGO Hanford Observatory. The knowledge that I gained from this experience is invaluable and I was fortunate enough to work with many informative and intelligent graduate students and scientists.
Data Quality
I am working on a new figure of merit based on a chi-squared test that allows the categorization of Data Quality Vetoes. Categories can be defined more rigorously by looking at the excess of triggers above a given threshold compared to a random distribution of triggers. The higher the figure of merit, the higher the correlation betwween triggers and DQs and thus the lower the category.
