LIGHT SPECTRA
In this excercise we will measure the light spectrum from a mercury ( Hg ) line source and incandescent bulbs. From the incandescent spectra the surface temperature of the filament can be estimated from Wein's Law.
(1) Measure the spectra of the Hg light source with the Daaedalon Spectrophotometer. Record the wavelength of the 4 main lines. The lowest energy line is an intense Hg-doublet. Record the wavelengths of the doublet.
