Spring Fling Physics Demonstration Show
7:00 – 8:30 PM April 15, 2010 in Fulton Chapel
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Mississippi will be presenting the first annual Spring Fling Physics Demonstration Show on Thursday April 15 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm in Fulton Chapel. Physics faculty and students will be demonstrating a wide variety of physics principles in exciting and entertaining ways. Examples are crushing a 55 gallon steel drum using atmospheric pressure, firing a ping pong ball through several aluminum cans, demonstration of how an electric guitar pickup works, strange fluids which grow fingers when shaken, and much more! The last part of the show will allow for the audience to view some demonstrations up close in a hands-on fashion. Admission will be free of charge.
