We are offering an astronomy open house in Kennon Observatory at Ole
Miss this Friday (Dec. 5), 5:15 pm to 8:30 pm.
We will be observing Venus, Jupiter and Uranus (all the three go down
soon after sunset though), then the Moon; the Pleiades; as well as a
few colorful double stars and star clusters and the Andromeda galaxy..
Observations are possible only if the weather cooperates. In case of
cloudy sky we'll offer physics demonstrations in the laboratory.
Families and children are welcome, the event is free!
The weather forecast is below freezing point, BE SURE TO DRESS WARM!
I strongly suggest to come early; the main attraction is Venus
+Jupiter and they go down quick; getting hazier by the minute.
