PhD Student

João D. Álvares

Numerical relativity, hyperboloidal evolution, and gravitational-wave physics.

Research interests

  • Numerical relativity
  • Post-Newtonian Theory
  • Black-hole dynamics
  • Gravitational waves

João works in numerical relativity, focusing on hyperboloidal methods, compact objects, and the extraction and interpretation of radiation at future null infinity. Recently, he shifted to Post-Newtonian theory, while also working in Relativistic Positioning Systems, and understanding radiation produced by radiation.
