Hi everybody!

This is where I hope to keep all relevant information concerning my research, teaching and professional business in general. I will try to keep this site up to date. I appreciate comments, suggestions and any kind of constructive feedback!

A very brief Intro to myself

I was born in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal, in 1975.

I got my PhD in 2003 at CENTRA/IST, in Lisbon with José Lemos. The thesis (available here), focused on gravitational radiation and oscillation modes of black holes.

In 2004, I spent one year in CFC/Coimbra as a post-doc with Manuel Fiolhais.

In 2005, I moved to St. Louis, MO, to work with Clifford Will in the Washington University Gravity Group.

From September 2005 to January 2008, I spent two and a half wonderful years at the Physics Department of the University of Mississippi as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, working with Marco Cavaglià.

Since 2008, I am a Researcher at CENTRA in the Physics Department of the Instituto Superior Técnico. I am also an Adjunct Professor of Physics in the University of Mississippi and a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration.

My current research focus is on black holes and gravitational radiation, their theoretical properties and possible experimental detection.

I am soooo fake pre-loading this image so the navigation doesn't skip while loading the over state. I know I could use the sliding doors technique to avoid this fate, but I am too lazy.
